About the Author Walter Fadness

After graduation from high school, I went to work for the Northern Pacific Railway as an agent-telegrapher. In 1958 I enlisted in the United States Air Force and was schooled in cryptography. After basic training and school I was assigned to Okinawa where I spent one and a half years, then I was assigned to Washington D. C. for another one and a half years. I was discharged in 1962. After the Air Force I became a city mail carrier until retirement.

I was married in 1962 and was blessed with three children a boy and two girls. Our son was born in 1963. The girls were adopted shortly after birth, one in 1968 and the other in 1971. They all were great kids and now great adults. All three were good in many HS sports. My sons best sport was in track and won the state high hurdles championship his junior year. He was injured during a basketball game his senior year and couldn't run his senior year. After college he became a television news photojournalist and later until the present is a high school teacher in Phoenix Az. My oldest daughter's best sport was basketball. She was a starter all four years in high school. She received a full scholarship to Alaska Anchorage University majoring in theater. She went on to Hollywood where she said she would give it ten years. After a few very small roles and a few commercials she left after ten years and became a paralegal in Phoenix. The younger daughter was a very fast runner as was my son and she was mainly into track but competed in sports the year around. She won state championship in the 400 meters. After college she married and has my four wonderful grandchildren. She works in real estate. The other two married later in life so they each have two step children.

So now I am retired for about 20 years and live in Mesa, Az near the two older kids Not anything very interesting for the book info but that was my life, driving many miles for all the sporting events even to Alaska twice, once for a BB tournament and then for graduation. I hope you find something for the book.
